Dental FAQ's Katy, TX
Dental FAQ provided by Dr. Melissa Wilson
in Katy, TX at Wilson Dentistry
I don’t have insurance, what are my options?
We strive to make high-quality dental care as accessible as possible. In doing so our office has created an affordable “in office savings plan”. Patients pay 39$ a year and receive discounted services on dental treatment. Click here for more information. We also offer third party financing through Care Credit and Lending Club.
Your office is “out of network” with my insurance, can I still come and see you?
Of course! Although we are out of network we can still take you insurance and will be happy to file on your behalf.
I want a smile makeover do you do that at your office?
Yes, our office not only provides comprehensive dental care but the doctors have an interest and focus on aesthetic procedures using the latest technology (such as Digital Smile Design). If you are interested in a cosmetic procedure, feel free to schedule a complimentary aesthetic consult with the doctor, or ask your hygienist for more details at your next cleaning!
What can I expect at my new patient hygiene visit?
Your new patient visit will be a thorough 1.5 hour exam in which we get a detailed medical/dental history, evaluate the health of your gums, take necessary radiographs, intra-oral photos, and gather any other information we need to customize your dental journey at our office. It is an opportunity for questions and a time to talk about any tooth-related concerns with your hygienist and doctor. From there we will determine which treatments best fit your needs and if there are any supplements, additives, or general dental care techniques we need to implement into your daily routine to optimize your overall health. While we strive to also clean your teeth at this appointment, depending on the level of gum treatment needed, sometimes we separate this into a separate appointment.
What does Integrative dentistry mean?
Integrative dentists have a philosophy of dentistry that centers on the “mouth-body connection,” viewing the body as a whole rather than as distinct systems. That philosophy has led them to integrate conventional dentistry methods, holistic methods, and conventional medical principles in order to better treat the whole patient. This philosophy focuses on techniques that are preventative and minimally invasive to keep the mouth and body as healthy as possible! Read more.
My child has braces, and its impossible for him/her to keep his teeth clean! Help! What can we do?
Our office understands the struggle children have to keep their teeth and gums clean during braces. Unfortunately, as a result, many children develop irreversible white spots that remain on teeth due to chronic inflammation while in braces. Wilson Dentistry has an accelerated hygiene program specifically for kids in braces. Click here to learn more about the program.
Can I straighten my teeth without wearing braces?
Absolutely. There are a variety of ways to improve the appearance of your teeth without braces. We have offered Invisalign since the Fall 2007. However, if you would prefer some other method to straighten your teeth, our doctors may recommend one of our cosmetic services, such as porcelain laminates or veneers to straighten your smile. The best method depends on your mouth and what you want to do. Call our dental office in Katy office today to schedule a consultation. After listening to your goals and concerns, we can recommend the best way to help you straighten your smile.
How can I safely whiten my teeth?
Many of our patients ask about whitening their teeth. Since each mouth is unique, we need to evaluate your teeth to recommend a specific method. If you want to bleach your teeth, we offer in office bleaching with Zoom Whitening or custom trays if you prefer to bleach at home. If your teeth are cracked, chipped, or discolored, we may recommend porcelain veneers to whiten your teeth. |
